Content potential on Linkedin:

Firstly, only 1–2 % of LinkedIn users are content creators. Linkedin has over 740 million users in more than 200 countries and territories across the globe.

So, an immense potential for anyone who is ready to produce content on Linkedin.

What should be the content strategy then?

  • Content-Length: Ideal length of the post should not exceed 1300 characters (not words).
  • Best time to post: 9 AM to 2 PM
  • Hashtags: Use 3–4 hashtags and use full forms instead of short forms for wider traction.
  • No pictures: Pictures or photos have a lower reach on Linkedin. Put it in the first comment if it’s important.
  • No Links: If necessary put it in the first comment. Linkedin doesn’t want users to move out of Linkedin. So, ideally no links on posts.

What are the various types of options available?

Content has evolved over the last couple of years at Linkedin and they too started offering multiple offerings like social media platforms. Like, share, and emojis are new developments at Linkedin. Various types of content:

Out of all the above, written posts has the maximum viewership on Linkedin. More the likes and comments; more is the reach.

So, how to provide engaging content on written posts: Treat this like a love letter you are writing to your sweetheart. And express yourself. Be unique and tell a story.

Ideal structure for Linkedin written Post:

  • First 2 lines: Drag attention by the hooks of your story.
  • Base story: Has a great insight or engaging lines so that they continue reading.
  • Last line: End with a CTA

Few More tips before you start writing:

Avoid long bulky paragraphs

Break the post into small lines

Make it readable and mobile-optimized

Keep it simple and short

Topics of choice: Your expertise or choice of interest and most important is addressing trends over the internet.

Whatever you end up doing, please don’t copy or write misleading content.

Just produce the right content and be consistent.

Enjoy the game!
